  Youth Training Program

Violence and safety within our schools and neighborhoods are one of the most important issues today facing students, parents, teachers, and the community. These concerns have recently elevated to a level of crisis proportions. The TERRY LYLES CORPORATION (TLC) has developed a training program about violence avoidance and social development for young people to become more resilient within their environment. This new generation of communication workshops has been specifically developed to challenge, educate, and life-train young people to understand and utilize the stresses that surround them. The program series focuses on the areas of Youth Stress Management, Peer Influences, Violence Avoidance, Personal Alignment and Social Development in their everyday lives.

Violence Avoidance and Personal Development programming for teenagers is now necessary because of the horrific shootings at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado; the tragic gun violence in Paducah, Kentucky and Jonesboro, Arkansas; Lake Worth Middle School in Florida; and the tragedy in Santee, California. There are countless other schools across our nation that have their own stories of violent acts within their classrooms, hallways, and neighborhoods. In so many different ways, young people are truly searching for answers and advice to learn how to relieve their tension and stress, understand their emotions, and feel successful and confident about their own person. Our research and data has directed us to approaching the solution through an after school life-skills training format centered around "UNDERSTANDING EMOTIONS".

The TLC Youth Training Program is designed to maximize daily pressure through personal development. The cornerstone of the training centers on perpetually changing inner emotions, connected to a testing and measurement system that is monitored by a psychologist for optimal results. This measurement system will work with program participants, a program director, the educational and legal system, including parents. Together, this training and measurement system will help to secure a meaningful future by making peace with the past and learning the tools necessary to navigate life storms. Stress and pressures can truly be overwhelming for everyone; including adults, parents, and teachers. In many ways, we all are not perfect, especially the manner in which we deal with tough situations. The critical component is HOW we deal with that stress emotionally, not allowing that pressure to consume us. More important, an individual, with the correct knowledge and understanding of themselves, can utilize this chaos as an opportunity to make changes and actually thrive in the midst of turmoil.
